Sicily Amaris McRaven is a dynamic interdisciplinary artist based in the Detroit area. Passionate about the transformative power of art, Sicily believes that access to learning and practicing art is a fundamental human right. Through their creative practice, Sicily strives to challenge conventional boundaries and envision radical new realities, using their art as a tool for social change and personal expression.

A: The funniest thing i’ve heard a kid say is “I can’t”

Q: What art form or hobby have you always wanted to try?

A: A hobby I've always wanted to try is either glassblowing or being an art director I can decide

Q: What is the most memorable or impactful art experience you’ve had as an adult?

A: I attended a Sheila Pepe art talk in 2010 she is an amazing speaker and I realized our art practices are similar and it inspired me to make larger works.
