Living Arts ignites creativity in the lives of Detroit youth through the performing, visual, and media arts.

We envision a future in which all youth have access to engaging, high-quality arts experiences, so that they can lead with confidence and empathy, drawing strength from their cultures and communities.

Our programming ranges from early childhood education to K-12 in-school artist residencies to robust afterschool arts and dance classes, and more. Living Arts prioritizes social-emotional learning and youth development. Our goal isn't to simply teach and develop artistic proficiency in our students; we empower them, we teach them to use their voices, and we set them up for success in arts and life.

Living Arts welcomes everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. We offer partial and full scholarships, with over 90% of our students receiving financial assistance.

  • High-quality arts programming should be accessible to everyone, regardless of income. Sponsorships help provide scholarships for students in our programs.

  • This sponsorship could provide our Early Learners (age 3 months - 5 years) and their parents/caregivers a full Detroit Wolf Trap (DWT) Artist Residency and one month of DWT services.

    All previously listed benefits included and:

    • Logo Added to Website

    • Verbal Recognition during Professional Development for Early Childhood Educators

    • Recognition on Class Materials for selected Sponsored Program

    • Admission for (3) to Showcase*

  • Become an Afterschool Arts Advocate by sponsoring one of our talented teaching artists. Your support will fund a full year for an Out-of-School Arts (OSA) Teaching Artist, ensuring impactful and inspiring arts education for our students.

    All previously listed benefits included and:

    • Verbal and Print Recognition at Annual Showcase and Youth Dance Ensemble (YDE) Performance

    • Admission for (4) to Showcase*

  • This In-School Arts sponsorship could provide a Teaching Artist Residency or other arts-integrated programming to a local K-12 school at no cost to them.

    All previously listed benefits included and:

    • Additional social media highlight

    • Photo of the Class (only available with parent/guardian permission)

    • End of year impact report for In-School-Arts including outcomes and evaluation

    • Admission for (4) to Showcase with Reserved Priority Seating*

  • You can sponsor an entire Out-of-School Arts class, from student scholarships to Teaching Artist fees to class materials. Classes offered during the school year provide students with 31 weeks of instruction.

    • Opportunity to provide promotional item in parent/guardian swag bags at our annual Showcase event, which marks graduation from OSA classes

Our community-centric approach engages artists, staff, board members, and the community, fostering diverse perspectives within the organization.

Living Arts prioritizes community involvement by offering leadership opportunities for community members through Parent and Teen Councils.

Many Detroit parents say their children would not have access to arts programming without us. Students tell us that our programming made them more confident, helped them express themselves, build skills, and deepen friendships.
